Using color film, I wander throughout adjacent neighborhoods, photographing mostly unremarkable public spaces in my search to read the city. Warm, directional sunlight illuminates mostly frontal, static compositions of suburban architecture, yielding images that function as urban portraits. Photographing these environments becomes a personal endeavor guided by rules and omissions as I negotiate form and light.
